Our first promise (to Bob and Lush, and to you) is to do everything we can to make our food as healthy as possible. For starters, we only use good quality ingredients and we don’t put any rubbish in our food. Ever.

Being dog owners ourselves we know that it is often difficult to tell what really is in your dog’s food. The ingredients listed on most dog food are often really long and complicated.

So, let’s take a closer look and see what a healthy diet is about:

Proteins

Proteins, in the form of high quality meat ingredients, are essential components of a dog’s diet. As animals with a carnivorous background, the dogs’ digestive tract is designed to utilize primarily meat and fat.

Our Premium Duck Kibble is packed with 55% duck and our Premium Lamb Wet Food is bursting with 70% lamb; each providing your dog with high quality meat proteins.

Fats and oils

Dogs need fats and oils in their diet, mostly for skin and coat health, but also for correct brain development. Certain fats and oils are preferable - especially those which have high percentages of Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 oils are the primary fat in the brain and are vital for its development, integrity and function.

Our Premium Duck Kibble is made with duck fat and contains Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. Our Premium Lamb Wet Food also contains linseed oil that will also help to improve the condition of the your dog’s coat.

Carbohydrates

Our Premium Duck Kibble contains potatoes. We chose potatoes because they are an excellent energy source. Good digestion is very important to us so we have included prebiotics MOS and FOS to help promote healthy bacteria in the gut.

Vitamins and minerals

Vitamins and minerals are extremely important and that’s why we’ve used experienced nutritionists to develop the correct balance of vitamins and minerals in our food. Vitamins and minerals are essential for maintaining dogs’ metabolism correctly; they are required in nearly all chemical pathways within dogs’ bodies, so they are crucial for their health and longevity.

This recipe doesn’t contain any corn, wheat, soy proteins (gluten), eggs or dairy products.

We’ve made sure to avoid using potential allergens in our food. All the above ingredients have been linked at one time to allergic reactions in dogs. We have especially avoided these ingredients to minimise any potential allergic reaction.

No artificial preservatives, colourings, or sweeteners in our food.

Preservatives like BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin and propylene glycol provide no nutritional value and have been associated with possible side effects. Some pet food brands resort to artificial colours and flavors in an attempt to make food look and taste better. At Bob & Lush we have tried to provide a complete balanced diet that is not only hypoallergenic and nutritious but tasty as well.
